Cost-Effective Multiplex Real-Time PCR Chip System Using Open Platform Camera

This paper proposes a cost-effective real-time multiplexed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) chip system for point-of-care (POC) testing. In the proposed system, nucleic acid amplification is performed in chamber built on printed-circuit-board (PCB) substrate with PCB pattern heater and thermistor. Fluorescence can be detected through transparent plastic other side of substrate. Open platform cameras were used miniaturization cost-effectiveness. We also simple oblique lighting to stimulate fluorescence. Response performance was investigated by observing change average brightness images various reference dye concentrations. addition, we interference properties between different colors measuring fluorescence response each concentration mixed maximum dyes. Quantitative validated using standard DNA solutions. Experimental results show that suitable POC multi-PCR systems.
